The world's best photographers on plsr. the international photography showcase.
I want my images to evoke a narrative, but in a way that is open to interpretation. My images are fabricated, because I love the ability to control what happens.
I was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. I started photography when I was fifteen. In high school I spent some time in New York City; what I experienced there had a profound effect on me. I then went on to college and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduation I stopped photographing to focus on making music in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I got back in to photography when I moved to San Francisco, California. At that time I was working as a graphic designer. I spent some time surfing and working in Honolulu, Hawai'i. I currently live in Los Angeles, California and I am now working as a photographer.
The images I create are influenced by environment and location. My images are not always about the people I photograph, instead I see them as actors playing a part. It is important that there is a strong connection between the location and people in my images. Aesthetics always plays a role, but I feel it should support the overall vision. I try to be transparent in my work. I prefer the viewer to see the images with their own eyes, and bring their own interpretation.
