Virginia Woods-Jack was born in 1970 in Leeds, England. She received a BA Hons in Photography from The University of Creative Arts Rochester England in 1998 and a MFA with Distinction from Massey's school of Fine Arts Wellington NZ 2009.

Creative Review showcased 2 of portfolios of her work in their bi-annual DVD of their favourite creatives working in the industry and Millie Simpson of Tatler wrote “VWJ is an important emerging talent within contemporary photography”.

Editorially VWJ has shot for publications across the world including Monocle, W, Newsweek, Observer magazine, Weekend Telegraph and Red. She has also shot commercially for clients including Toyota Prius, National Bank, HBF, AMP, BottleTop at Mulberry and The Child Cancer Foundation.

VWJ's photographs have been shown in group shows in NZ, England and France including London Photographic Awards, Voies Off Arles Group Show HAFNY and a finalist in The NZ National Contemporary Art Award 2009.

VWJ currently works in Australia and NZ where she currently resides.
